Fanny — Rock And Roll Survivors 1974 (USA, Pop/Glam Rock)

June Millington, considered by many to be the heart and soul of Fanny, left the group and moved to a farm she bought in upstate New York. The rest of the Fanny members decided to continue without her and took lead guitarist and singer Patti Quatro (Suzi Quatro's older sister) in place. Alice De Buhr also left soon after, and Brie Brandt, who played in The Svelts, became the drummer. It was this line-up that recorded the Rock And Roll Survivors album, for which the band went to Casablanca Records. This version of "Fanny" was received extremely negatively by the music press, and "Rock And Roll Survivors" proved to be the band's final studio effort. Ironically, it is "Rock and Roll Survivors" that contains the group's single that has reached the top of all the others on the charts. "Butter Boy" reached number 29 on the singles chart in February 1975.
