I am the unknown poet, who strives to speak in rhyme,
to weave the words of human thought, spilling from my mind.
To give a voice to those of us, faceless without names,
to comment on the world at large, or what of it remains.

I am the unknown artist, who paints in brilliant hues,
the things that no one wants to see, ideas of human ruse.
While searching for reality, within a world of lies,
I'm brushing truths on canvas, unveiling their disguise.

I am the unknown living soul, trapped within my shell,
seeking signs of heaven, facing those of hell.
A life filled with potential, soon gone without a trace,
who knew that rats were winning, within the human race.

I am the unknown dreamer, who prays for hope and peace,
imprisoned in a haunted mind, where death will find release.
For now, I am a poet, who no one seems to know.
Perhaps someday, someone will ask, who was this Jane (Van) Doe?
